ADELAIDE VETERINARY SPECIALIST AND REFERRAL CENTRE
The Adelaide Veterinary Specialist and Referral Centre (AVSARC) invites applications for Internal Medicine internships for 2019.
The Internal Medicine service is directed by Dr David Davies BSc BVMS(Hons) FANZCVS (Canine Medicine) and provides a comprehensive referral service in all aspects of small animal internal medicine. The Intern assists in all aspects of case management including in-patient care, communication with clients and referring veterinarians, in-patient procedures, CT scans, off-site MRI scans and admission of urgent Internal Medicine referrals. The Internal Medicine service works closely with the services in Surgery, Dermatology and Animal Physiotherapy and 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care operating from AVSARC.
Applicants must be eligible for full registration as a veterinary surgeon in South Australia. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, committed to Internal Medicine and thrive with the demands of the position. Participation in daily rounds and Internal Medicine service meetings is required. Preparation of a publication and/or conference presentation is expected.
¨ Twelve month period of employment at AVSARC commencing January 2019.
¨ Four weeks annual leave and one week study/conference leave.
¨ Normal hours of work 38 hours per week.
¨ Some participation in the Emergency & Critical Care veterinarian roster is required.
